26.01.07 January 25th : Joe's Pub

So, the Sons played our first show of the new year last night at Joe's Pub in NYC. Thank you very much to Nancy and the Joe's Pub staff for having us. Friends, family, and strangers braved the chilling cold and late hour to show their support and make the evening truly special. We managed to play about 8 new songs and a bunch of older ones. From the response, it seems like Coco Rushdie and Lucy were standouts of the new. It's good to be back on stage and working through a slew of new material. Anyway, thanks, New York, we'll see you next time...

"I married rich once or twice,
She paid for things and that was nice.
Bring me the head of Jesus Christ,
Bring me whiskey and bring me ice.
I pack shelves and I'm not well,
I pack shelves and I'm not well.
My kids are pale and my bread is stale.
I pack shelves and I'm not well.

They call me Coco Rushdie,
And under me there is no ground.
They call me Coco Rushdie,
And like the leaves that will fall, I'm a forgotten man."
